Change what the PERSON's mouse does on the canvas. 'orbit' lets them fly the camera around the scene; 'translate', 'rotate' and 'scale' arm a drag gizmo on the object so they can place it by hand. This changes their controls rather than the scene, so say why you switched - for example, arm 'rotate' when you have asked them to aim the car themselves.
