Change the comp's background plate while every cel layer stays exactly where it is. mode "edit" keeps this plate and follows guidance (strength 0.55 holds the staged geometry, 0.85+ redesigns); mode "regen" paints a brand-new plate from a full image prompt. Every previous plate stays toggleable in the comp's background history. Still plates only — a clip background is footage, so animate a new clip and set_background instead.
