terrain_refine_density
Locally raises mesh density on a terrain so a following sculpt stroke or CSG cut has enough vertices to resolve detail. Terrain starts at a density tuned for kilometre-scale relief, so fine work -- a cave mouth, a trail cut, a rock shelf -- needs refinement first or it will come out mushy. Use "tessellate" to subdivide in place, and "remesh" to rebuild the region at an even edge length when repeated sculpting has left stretched triangles. All distances are meters.
Input schema
| Property | Type | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
nodeId |
string | no | Mesh terrain node ID. Omit when the scene contains exactly one mesh terrain. |
mode |
string | no | "tessellate" (default) subdivides existing triangles inside the sphere. "remesh" rebuilds them toward a uniform edge length, which also relaxes… |
x |
number | yes | World X of the refinement sphere center, in meters |
y |
number | yes | World Y of the refinement sphere center, in meters |
z |
number | yes | World Z of the refinement sphere center, in meters |
radiusMeters |
number | yes | Radius of the refined region in meters. Cover the whole area of the planned edit plus a margin. |
targetEdgeLengthMeters |
number | yes | Desired triangle edge length in meters inside the region. A cave mouth wants roughly 0.5-2 m; a hillside 5-20 m. Smaller values cost geometry quickly. |
