Pin a moment on the timeline — a beat to cut on, a mistake to come back to, the top of a section. Markers belong to the timeline rather than to any item, because what they usually mark is the join between two, and a note on either would go when that one was trimmed. Dropping one on a moment that already has a marker renames it instead of stacking two.
