propose_graphic
Propose a motion graphic over the cut. It appears immediately on the timeline as a dashed, unconfirmed overlay the editor can watch and then accept or reject; it is not in the video until they accept it. Choose a type from: lower_third: A name and a role sliding in at the lower left. For introducing a person or a place. title_card: A full-frame headline over a wash. For a chapter break or the opening line. caption_pop: Words appearing one at a time along the bottom, in time with speech. For a line worth landing. callout_arrow: An arrow and a label pointing at a spot in the frame. For a screen recording, or anything you need someone to look at. stat_badge: A number that counts up, with a label under it. For a figure you say out loud. progress_bar: A bar filling across the bottom over its own duration. For a walkthrough with steps. Call get_timeline first so the timing lands on the right moment, and get_selection if they asked for it over "this bit".
Input schema
| Property | Type | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
type |
string | yes | — |
text |
string | no | The words that appear on screen. Not a description of them. Short: this is a graphic, not a paragraph. |
subtext |
string | no | Optional second line: a role, a source, a label under a number. |
start |
number | yes | Seconds from the start of the finished cut, from get_timeline. |
duration |
number | no | Seconds on screen. Default 4. |
position |
string | no | — |
palette_role |
string | no | A role, not a colour. The theme decides what it looks like, so this works in light and dark. |
easing |
string | no | — |
point |
object | no | callout_arrow only. Where to aim, as fractions of the frame: {x: 0.5, y: 0.5} is the middle. |
reason |
string | no | One sentence, shown to the editor on the card. Why this, here. |
