import_landxml

Read an existing alignment out of a LandXML file and load it as the design. This is how a road that already exists -- in OpenRoads, in Civil 3D, in a survey deliverable -- gets in here, instead of starting from scratch. Give it the file's text. If the file holds several alignments, name the one you want or take the first. ⛔ DESTRUCTIVE: this replaces the current design. Preview first (omit commit). ⛔ It REFUSES rather than approximating: a file using spiral transitions is rejected with the count, because this kernel models tangents and circular curves only and quietly dropping a spiral would change the geometry of a road somebody is going to build. Metric files are converted to US survey feet and say so.
