The list the Body text section offers a Chinese, Japanese or Arabic book (Design › Text › Language): the settings such a book is usually set with — document language, writing mode and binding, typefaces, alignment, indent, notes, chapter numbering, punctuation rules — each with the value it has and the one it would take. Without apply it only lists them: required rows always apply; optional ones apply unless the author set a value of their own (customised), and include names exactly the optional rows to apply. With apply: true the rows are written as one step (sandbox_undo takes it back). chinese takes locale (zh-Hans, zh-Hant, zh-HK…) and vertical; japanese takes book (vertical: a bunko or tankōbon novel; horizontal: a technical book); arabic takes faces (classical or modern) and the document language must be in the Arabic script.
