set_character_variant_selection
Activate or deactivate an existing expression, outfit, or prop using the inspected revision. Edits automatically save into the current named Appearance; no separate save/commit action is needed. Alternatively use appearance:{action:create|save-as|select|rename|delete,id,label?}, omitting group/variantId/active. create and save-as require a new ID and label. create opens a fresh look with no selected expression/outfit/props and an empty model sheet, preserving the base body, shared variants and other looks. save-as keeps the current combination and captures its front, with other references empty; do this BEFORE editing to preserve the original. Legacy working art is exposed as a real Default Appearance without a write on read; its next edit persists that adoption. select waits for saving and restores that look; failed/conflicted saves block switching. rename changes the label. delete removes that Appearance and its references, keeps shared assets, and opens the first remaining look when deleting the active one. The last Appearance cannot be deleted. Switching or creating an Appearance starts a fresh Appearance undo session, not an undoable navigation step. Captured fronts follow composition edits; other references are retained with needsReview:true. Shared variant art affects all looks using it. selected.props is bottom-to-top activation order; deactivate then reactivate to move a prop to the top. UI and agents share one autosaving command lifecycle. AOZU itself handles effects.navigation in this browser tab; the agent must not repeat that navigation. Observe the resulting page after rendering, then call inspect_workspace again for fresh context. A successful tool result is not proof of visual correctness.
