write_notes
Write single notes (note names or scale degrees at bar/step) to bass, chords or lead, merging with or replacing what is there. Use when the human wants a melody, riff, hook or note edit; for a chord progression use add_chords. Max 64 notes; pitches clamp to the track range. Visible in the grid immediately; the loop keeps playing; returns undo_id.
