act imperative

Update one or more fields of the visible TrialBridge search form. Only the listed fields may be changed, and every change is rendered in the form immediately so the person can see and correct it. Supply only the fields you intend to change; omitted fields keep their current value. Use this to record details the person tells you in conversation (for example their city or acceptable travel distance) before running a search. Never invent clinical details: only write values the person actually stated.

Input schema

PropertyTypeRequiredDescription
cancerId string no The person's cancer type. Accepts this app's catalogue id, the display label, or any recognised alternative wording — "AML", "acute myeloid leukemia" and "acute-myeloid-leukemia" all resolve to the same entry. Matching is exact, never approximate: an unrecognised value is rejected with the reason rather than guessed at, because searching the wrong disease is worse than searching nothing. Use "other-not-listed" when the person's cancer is not in the catalogue, and put their own wording in 'condition'.
cancerStage string no Cancer stage as the person was told it. Used to hide studies whose published criteria state a stage that excludes it; studies stating no stage are always kept. Leave 'unspecified' unless the person actually stated a stage — never infer one.
netTreatments array no Treatments the person has already received, from the neuroendocrine tumor catalogue. Accepts catalogue ids, generic names or brand names ("everolimus", "Afinitor"). Only meaningful when cancerId is the neuroendocrine entry. Used to flag or withhold studies whose exclusion criteria name one of them; never to state that anyone is ineligible.
condition string no The person's own wording for their cancer. Used only when cancerId is "other-not-listed"; otherwise the catalogue entry supplies the search term.
age integer, null no Age in whole years. Never a date of birth.
sex string no Only set this when the person volunteers it; many trials do not restrict by sex.
city string no City name only.
state string no State, province or region. When the country is the United States this must name a real state, district or territory — the full name, the two-letter code, or a common short form ("Illinois", "IL", "Ill") — because the person's own form only lets them choose from a fixed list. An unrecognised US state is rejected rather than stored. For any other country this is free text, as it is for the person.
country string no Country name, e.g. United States.
travelDistanceMiles integer, null no How far the person is willing to travel to a study site, in miles.
recruitmentStatuses array no Which enrolling statuses to search. Defaults to RECRUITING alone, which is what someone trying to join a study almost always wants. NOT_YET_RECRUITING covers studies that are registered but not yet open, so it is useful for planning ahead rather than enrolling today. Studies that are completed, terminated, withdrawn, suspended, active-not-recruiting or enrolling-by-invitation cannot be searched, because a participant cannot enrol in them.
phases array no Preferred trial phases. Leave empty to include all phases.
priorTreatments array no Treatments the person says they have already received. Used only to flag mentions in eligibility text.
keywords string no Additional free-text search keywords, e.g. a biomarker or drug class.
